Vrchovany Countryhouse

A reconstruction and expansion of a traditional Czech country house. The project respects the aesthetic qualities of the Czech tradition but upgrading the house’s comfort and use. The expansion is done subtly, detaching itself from the traditional house but connects to it with the use of same local materials like the sandstone wall.
The materials used in the extensions respect the existing house. Wood, plaster and sandstone. This comes in contrast to the large glazed opening to the benefit of the view. The terrace is completely covered to protect from the weather and shade against the sun.
